Privacy Policy

Account. Your email address and a password (stored securely, hashed — we never see it in plain text), handled by our authentication provider.

Profile. What you tell us to build your vibe profile: your name and display name, optional pronouns, birth date and birth location, a short personality assessment, interests, bucket-list items, an optional photo, and how you categorize your friendships.

Connections. The friends you add (via invite code) and the tags each side applies to the relationship.

Usage. Basic, privacy-respecting product analytics so we can see which features are used and fix what’s broken.

To run the core product: computing your compatibility read with a friend, suggesting activities, and organizing your friend group. Your birth information feeds one input of the matching signal and is never sold or used for advertising.

To keep your account secure, prevent abuse, and improve the product over time.

Friends you connect with see your vibe profile, interests, and how the friendship is tagged. They do not see your raw personality-assessment answers, your exact birth time, or anything you haven’t chosen to share.

We rely on a small set of trusted providers to operate: hosting (Netlify), database, authentication, and file storage (Supabase), and product analytics (PostHog). Location search, when used, is powered by Mapbox and Google Places. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms; we don’t sell your personal information to anyone.

You can view and edit most of your information from your profile at any time. You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@checkvibe.lol. Deleting your account removes your profile and connections.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make a material change we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
